Cheese khichdi

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup aromatic small grained rice
  • 1 cup yellow pulse
  • 1 large potato diced
  • 1 tbs ginger paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cumin whole
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seed
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • 1 large tomato
  • 2 green chilli
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Enough grated cheese 🙂

Procedure:

  • Lightly fry yellow pulse until aroma comes out
  • Pressure cook yellow pulse and rice with 2 whistels
  • In pan add oil fry potatoes until golden brown
  • Take them out
  • Add more oil
  • Add cumin,fennel until aroma comes out
  • Add tomato until soften
  • Add the pressure cooked rice and dal
  • Add potatoes
  • Add some water until everything is cooked
  • Add salt to taste
  • Add some sugar for balanced taste
  • Grate lots of cheese

Serve hot with french fries
