Salt n pepper chicken


  • 500 gms bite size chicken with or without bones your choice
  • 2 large onion chopped
  • 1 small capsicum chopped
  • 7-8 cloves of garlic chopped 
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic paste
  • 1/2 inch ginger grated
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 5-6 chopped green chilli
  • Salt to taste
  • 4-5 tbs freshly crushed pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1:1 ratio cornflour and flour to make the batter sticky
  • 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbs red chilli paste


  • Marinate the chicken with buttermilk,salt,lemon zest,pepper,garlic paste,grated ginger 
  • Keep aside for 2 hours
  • Drain the excess buttermilk
  • Add egg,flour,cornflour,red chilli paste
  • Keep aside for 20 minutes
  • Deep fry the chicken
  • In another pan add oil,add chopped cloves of garlic
  • Onion,capsicum,chillies
  • Add the fried chicken
  • Toss at high flame with salt and pepper

If you want you can use ajina moto but it is optional.

Remember it is not good for your health foodies 🙂

Serve the chicken with mocktails.
