Spiced bananaflower dumpling

Ingredients:

For dumpling:

  • 1 whole bananaflower flowerets are sorted out
  • Flowers are boiled with a bit of turmeric and sweezed
  • 1 large potato boiled and mashed
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 3 gms raisins chopped
  • 10-12 cashew chopped
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger chopped
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Gram flour to bind

For gravy:

  • 2 small onions finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger grated
  • 2 cloves,1 cinnamon stick,2 cardamom roughly grounded
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 1 small tomato grated
  • 1 tbs cumin powder
  • 1 tbs coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

Procedure:

For dumpling:

  • Mix all the ingredients together
  • See that it makes tight binding
  • Divide into small balls
  • Deep fry the balls
  • Keep on soak paper

For gravy:

  • Add oil/ ghee to the pan
  • Add bay leaf,red chilli
  • When aroma comes out add cloves,cardamom,cinnamon
  • Add onion,ginger garlic
  • Add tomato
  • Add the spices,salt 
  • Move your laddle until oil seperates
  • Add requured water
  • When boil comes add the dumplings
  • Dumplings will soak water and swell up more
  • If you want add more water if you want more gravy before adding the dumplings

Serve hot with steamed rice
