For my kid and for every kid I think vegetable is very boring. But we know vegetables are so essential for them. In our Indian lunch one vegetable dish is must. So I have to make my son eat it and thus make it special and appealing.Today I’m going to make pointed gourd in my lunch and in a bit different way.
Ingredients:
- 500 gms potol or pointed gourd
- 200 gms cottage cheese
- 2 big onions chopped
- 2 tbs poppy seed paste
- 1 large tomato paste
- 2 tbs ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbs chopped garlic
- 1 tbs chopped ginger
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbs cumin powder
- 1 tbs coriander powder
- 1 tbs garam masala powder
- 2 tbs ghee or clarified butter
- Sugar to taste
Process:
- Scoop out the pointed gourds
- Clean them properly
- In a pan add half of the chopped onions,add chopped ginger,chopped garlic
- Add the cottage cheese crush it
- Add required salt amd sugar
- Now stuff into all the pointed gourds
- Fry all the pointed gourds with turmeric and salt
- In a fresh pan add the ghee
- Remaining onions,ginger garlic paste,tomato paste
- Move your laddle until oil seperates
- Add the remaining spices
- Again wait until oil seperates
- Add required water for gravy
- Wait until gravy thickens
- Add the fried pointed gourds
- Simmer for 5-8 minutes
Apply ghee or clarified butter from top
Serve hot with steamed rice
