Pulao recipe(aromatic sweet rice) ||non veg and veg curry recipes to serve with

It is another recipe which comes under no onion no garlic category. Pulao is a very famous dish in Indian Subcontinent special in Bengal. It is commonly served during any occasions,special dinners and pujas (ceremonial rituals). It is distinct in its taste for its subtle sweetness and aroma. You can add saffron if you want to make it a bit richer in aroma and color(yellowish). It is such a dish which you can have with both veg and non veg curries.

The main ingredient here is the rice. The rice should fluffy not mushy.

  1. Soak the rice for at least 4 hours
  2. Then wash the rice under cold water
  3. Now in boiling water pour all the rice
  4. It will take 10-15 minutes to get a parboiled hard rice
  5. Immediately drain the rice
  6. Run cold water
  7. Now refrigerate the rice for at least 2 hours
  8. This refrigeration will help the rice to not break

Type: Aromatic rice

Cooking time: 35-40 minutes

Serve: 6


  • 1 cup cauliflower florets
  • 1 1/2 cup mix vegetables( carrots, green beans, sweet corn, green peas)
  • 5 tbs pulao spices (salt, sugar, crushed cardamon,crushed cloves, crushed cinnamon)👇
  • 2 tbs clarified butter
  • 3 tbs white oil
  • 1/2 cup cashew nuts
  • 2 cups parboiled rice


  • In a pan add the white oil
  • Add the cauliflower florets
  • Add the mix vegetables
  • Now add the cashew nuts
  • Now add 2 tbs spice mix
  • Add the parboiled rice
  • Add more spice mix and mix them thoroughly
  • Now add the clarified butter
  • Cover and cook for at least 35-40 minutes at low flame

Your fluffy sweet rice or Bengali mishti pulao is ready
