Dear readers, I’ve ve wrote before that for any kind of fancy cake we need a proper cake base. I always prefer simple butter sponge cake.
You can make your cake and decorate it and make it eye catchy. In this recipe I wanted to share how to make a simple sponge cake look temping and irresistible.
Ingredients:
- 100 gm all purpose flour
- 100 gm softened butter
- 80 gm sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup crushed cashew nuts
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup Frosting with 2 drops of red color to have that pink tinge
Procedure:
- Preheat the oven to 375F
- Creme the butter and sugar together
- Add the eggs one by one and mix it
- Add in all the dry ingredients
- Add the warm water and the vanilla essence
- Now pour it in a square baking tray
- Sprinkle all the crushed nuts from top
- Bake it for 35-40 minutes or until baked
- Make sure you check the cake after 35 minutes by inserting a skewer in the centre and see if it comes clean
- If it comes clean no need to bake more
- Now cool the cake
- Just cut some even pieces
- Pipe one small pink dots on each piece and place one chocolate chips on top
