Eggless homemade croissants||a classic tea time rolls

Croissants derive their name from their crescent shape. This buttery flaky bread is of Austrian origin.

A methodical process along with patience is the key to this rolls. No special skills and no special equipments,is needed.

Here’s you complete guide to make croissants from scratch👇

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 tbs sugar
  • 2 tbs active yeast
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 100 gm melted butter
  • 1 cup milk for milk wash

The most important ingredient for this recipe is lots of patience, you should not skip any step or you will not get that layered, soft croissant.

Procedure:

  • In a clean bowl add the warm milk
  • Now add the sugar and the yeast
  • Cover it with a plate and allow it to bloom
  • Now add the oil and the salt
  • Add the all purpose flour
  • Knead it
  • Now add some olive oil and leave it for 1 hour in a warm place for proofing
  • Take it out and knuckle the air out and again add some oil and allow it for 2nd time proofing for another 1 hour in a warm place
  • Again knuckle the air out
  • Stretch the dough and cut into equal halves
  • Now roll into a ball
  • Roll out each ball and dust some flour over it
  • Stack the rolled out doughs
  • Now take one by one rolled sheets and brush melted butter on each sheet and place another sheet on it and again brush the butter
  • Now roll out the stacked sheets
  • Cut your pastry dough into triangle shapes
  • Here in my recipe I have made 2 flavors-chocolate and marmalade
  • You can make a simple croissant
  • Take each triangle piece
  • Cut the side opposite side of the pointed end
  • Place your chocolate or the marmalade and roll into a tight bun (don’t worry we’ve added a video of it)
  • Now Brush them with milk
  • Keep the croissants buns in warm place for 30 minutes
  • Preheat the oven to 375F
  • Now place the tray in the middle rack and bake them for 15-20 minutes or until you see a golden brown color on them
