Soya bean or meal maker is known as meat without bones. It is a 100% vegetarian dish with no onion and no garlic. But you can add garlic and onion if you want to with the same recipe below.
Soyabeans are high in protein and also helps in weight management. It is a very easy recipe with great flavors.
It is a great side dish for rice, chapattis and bread.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb soya bean chunks
- 1 large potato diced into cubes
- 1 large tomato chopped
- 2 green chillies slit open
- 3 tbs spice mix ( 2 tbs cumin powder, 2 tbs coriander powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder)
- 1 tsp whole spice (1 cinnamon, 2 cardamom, 3 cloves)
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbs ginger paste
- 1 Capsicum diced
Procedure:
- In a deep dish boil some water with 1 tsp salt
- When the boil comes switch off the heat
- Soak some soya beans for 15 – 20 minutes
- Now take out the soya beans and press the soaked water from it
- In another pan add 2 tbs white oil
- Add the diced potatoes and fry it
- Keep them aside
- Now add the whole spices
- When aroma comes add the tomatoes and ginger paste
- Fry them well
- Add the spice mix and 1/2 cup warm water
- Cook them until oil separates
- Now add the soya hand and the potatoes
- Mix them well
- Add the remaining 1/2 cup warm water
- Now cover and cook for 10 minutes at low flame
- Again stir it and cook for more 15 minutes at the lowest flame
Your soya bean curry is ready.
