Honey garlic chicken||Restaurant style||easy to make

This super-simple recipe makes a crisp-tender chicken with a perfect, sticky glaze.
You can use both the chicken breast and chicken thighs for this recipe.

This is a perfect recipe to serve your sudden cravings to have something sweet with a touch of savoury to it and which can give you that feel good feelings.

It has 2 important steps;

  1. Fried chicken
  2. The honey garlic sauce

Type: starter, side dish

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time : 20-25 minutes

Serve : 6

Ingredients for the fried chicken:

  • 1 1/2 lb / 700 gm chicken diced (thigh or breast)
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour
  • 3 tbs all purpose flour
  • 2 tbs crushed black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 egg
  • Oil to deep fry

Ingredients for the honey garlic sauce:

  • 3 tbs tomato ketchup
  • 3 tbs soya sauce
  • 2 tbs white oil
  • 4 tbs honey
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbs chopped ginger
  • 1 tbs chopped garlic
  • 2 tbs chopped green onions
  • Freshly chopped spring onions (as per your need)
  • 3 tbs chopped green chillies

Procedure:

For the fried chicken:

  • In a bowl mix the ingredients together
  • Make sure you get a sticky batter not a runny
  • Don’t add any water
  • Marinate for 30 minutes that’s all

Procedure for frying the chicken:

  • In a deep dish pan add oil for deep frying
  • Add chicken one by one
  • Don’t over crowd the pan or you will end up into a soggy chicken
  • Fry them until golden brown
  • Keep them aside

Procedure:

Procedure for the honey garlic sauce;

  • In a pan add 3 tbs white oil
  • Add the green/spring onions
  • Add the ginger and garlic
  • Mix them well
  • Add the chilli flakes
  • Add the green chillies also
  • Mix them well until you start getting that garlicky aroma
  • Add the tomato ketchup
  • Add hhe soya sauce and the honey
  • Mix them well and cover and cook for 10 minutes in the lowest flames

Procedure for the HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN:

  • Now add the chicken to the honey garlic sauce
  • And mix them well
  • Make sure you have coated all the chicken
  • Now top it up with some fresh spring onions and 1 tbs crushed black pepper powder
