If you are fan of comfort food,then this one pot chicken stew is what you are looking forward to.
You an never wrong with a bowl of stew,it’s an easy to make food,classic that is sure to impress family and friends. This chicken stew is s lighter version of any meat variety stew,but it’s equally as delicious and Cooks in less than half the time!!!
This can be served as a breakfast,lunch or dinner. It can fit into any meal time. It is healthy and kids will also love it.
Type: Healthy and tasty/whole meal
Preparation time: 10-15 minutes
Cooking time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lb chicken ( we took drumsticks)
- 2 tsp chopped garlic
- 3 cloves
- 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp whole black pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 large potato sliced
- 1 cup diced onions
- 1 cup diced carrots
- Salt to taste
- Crushed black pepper to taste
- For slurry: Add 1 tbs all purpose flour to 2 tbs water
- 1 tbs butter ( you can add more😁)
Procedure:
- First in a pan add 2 tbs white oil
- Fry the chickens until the color changes
- You can see chicken will leave it’s juices,just keep on circulating them
- Fry until again the oil separates
- Now keep the chicken aside
- In that pan add 2 bay leaves,3 cloves,1/2 inch cinnamon stick,1 tsp whole black pepper
- Saute them
- And add the chopped onions
- Fry and the carrots and the potatoes
- Fry well and then add the slurry
- Mix and cover just bring to boil
- When it thickens and bubbles up add the chicken and give it a quick stir
- At this point add the salt and crushed black pepper to taste
- And 1 cup warm water
- Cover and cook for 10 minutes at a medium low flame
- Again remove the cover and stir
- Cover and cook for another 5-8 minutes and its done
- Give it a standing time of 5 minutes and serve
- Add butter to the serving bowl and enjoy with side of buttered toast….yummm yummmm😋
