Raita is a condiment in South Asian cuisine made of ‘dahi’ /yoghurt/ curd whisked together with raw or cooked vegetables. Even it can be made with fruits or boondi (fried gramflour batter droplets)It is very healthy and tasty. It is served mainly with right delicacies like Biriyani,Polao…and also with fritters (pakodas).It can also be enjoyed after heavy meal😊,it helps to cool the palate. It is almost a staple in every Indian home, either in lunch or dinner.So,let’s not hit the bush and jump to the recipe👇👇👇👇Let’s make Raita/Yoghurt Sauce in my style👇👇👇Type- SaucePreparation time- 10-15 minutesCooking time- 10-15 minutesIngredients:
- 1 cup plain yoghurt
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tbs chopped onions
- 3 tbs chopped cucumber
- 3 tbs chopped tomatoes
- 2 tbs chopped cilantro/coriander
- For the spice mix- 1 tsp black salt+1.5 tsp red chilli flakes+2 tbs sugar+1 tbs salt (check the salt and sugar according to your palate,as it tastes on the sweeter side)
- For tempering- 1 tsp mustard seeds +2 green chillies+ 6-8 curry leaves
Procedure:
- In a bowl add 1 cup yoghurt and to that add 1/2 cup water
- Whisk to smooth the mixture
- In that add some spices- 1 tsp black salt,1.5 tsp red chilli flakes,2 tbs sugar,1 tbs salt

- Add the veggies we chopped
- Now keep it aside
- For the tempering- Add 1 tbs oil,then add 1 tsp mustard seeds,6-8 curry leaves and 2-3 green chillies
- Fry till aroma comes and then pour it over the Yoghurt Sauce we prepared
- Mix and keep refrigerated or at room temperature as you like
