Choco swirl bread|| Healthy and tasty|| kids special|| Goes great with sweet butter, Nutella or cream cheese

This Babka inspired Choco bread is perfect for breakfast or snacking.

It is puffed by using yeast and egg. It is so soft and airy that it will melt in your mouth when you take each bite.

It can be used as a fruits sandwich by using cream cheese and fresh fruits or it can be easily eaten with soft butter.

Let’s make Choco swirl bread…in my style ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Type- Bread, breakfast

Preparation time- 1hour +1hour for proofing and 15 minutes for other purpose

Cooking time- 35-40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • For the quick roux- 2 tbs all purpose flour,4 tbs hot water….mix them until smooth
  • 3 cups or 375 gm all purpose flour
  • 3tbs+1 tbs +2 tbs softened butter
  • 4 tbs or 50 gm sugar
  • 5gm active yeast
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup or 125 ml warm milk
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 beaten egg for egg wash (optional,you can use milk also for wash)
  • 3 tbs unsweetened cocoa

Procedure:

  • In a bowl add 3 cups of all purpose flour,5 gm yeast (each packet contains 7gm),a pinch of salt and 4ctbs or quarter cup sugar
  • Mix them
  • Add the hot quick roux (don’t skip it)
  • Add 1/2 cup warm milk and start kneading
  • Add 1 beaten egg+3 tbs softened butter
  • Knead it into a soft dough
  • Now divide them into 2 equal parts
  • Keep one part covered and add 3 tbs unsweetened cocoa to another part
  • While kneading the cocoa part add 1 tbs softened butter
  • Knead until soft
  • Now cover them separately and keep them in a warm place for 1 hour
  • After 1 hour when first proofing is done roll them out separatetly
  • Add 1 tbs butter to the plain rolled out dough and place the cocoa rolled out dough
  • Roll lightly and pinch all the uneven parts
  • Add another tbs butter on top and spread
  • Now start folding like a Swiss roll
  • Again cover and keep for another hour for second proofing
  • After 2nd proofing give it a egg wash or a milk wash
  • Add slight slashes with a knife
  • Bake them at a preheated 355F or 180C for 40 minutes on a lower rack
  • Your time varies on your oven
  • Give then a 10 minutes standing time,after you take it out from my ven and then slice
  • Enjoy with some Nutella
