Ginger chicken

This is one of the recipes I prepared for my son on his birthday. Ginger chicken is very delicious and easy to make. You can change your spice level as per your taste bud. Chunks of chicken dipped in batter and then fried in a ginger sauce will just make your day. So let’s hop onto the recipe.

Type: Appetizer, Side dish

Time: 30 minutes

Serve: 4


  • 500 gm boneless skinless chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbs ginger paste
  • 1/2 tbs garlic paste
  • 2 tbs minced ginger
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1tsp chilli flakes
  • 4 chillies diagonally chopped
  • 1 medium sized onion diced
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp crushed Black pepper
  • 4 tbs all purpose flour
  • 2 tbs cornflour
  • 1 medium sized capsicum diced

For the sauce:

  • 3 tbs tomato sauce
  • 3 tbs low sodium soya sauce
  • 1 tbs vinegar
  • 2 tbs green chilli aauce
  • 2 tbs chilli garlic sauce
  • 2 tbs chilli sauce


  • In a bowl add the chicken
  • Add the egg and 2 tsp vinegar
  • Add the ginger garlic paste
  • Add salt to taste
  • 2 tbs honey
  • Marinate the chicken for 2 hours

  • Add in the flour and the cornflour
  • Deep fry the chicken
  • Keep aside
  • In a pan add some sesame oil
  • Add the chilli flakes, oregano and the garlic and ginger
  • Add the sauce
  • Stir continuously
  • Now add the diced onion and the capsicum
  • Cook until translucent
  • Add the chillies
  • Now add the fried chicken
  • If you want some gravy add 1/2 cup warm water
  • Then take 2 tsp Cornflour and 1 tsp water and make a slurry
  • Add in to make it thick

Garnish with some chopped ginger
