Instant Rava Dosa/instant semolina crepes||Veg recipe and a healthy breakfast

Dosa is crisp from outside and have a perfect sour taste when munched into it. It can be plain or it can have a simple potato filling.

Dosa takes around 24 hours to ferment,so it’s a bit time consuming. But,if you crave for a quick Dosa,then this recipe is just want you are looking for. Semolina or Rava is such a product with which we use to make different healthy dishes.

In this batter,you can add veggies according to your choice,and the outcome is crisp from outside.

So,let’s make Instant Rava Dosa/instant semolina crepes…in my style ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Type- Breakfast,lunch or dinner

Preparation time- 25-30 minutes

Cooking time- 5-7 minutes when optimum temperature is reached


  • 1/2 cup sooji /semolina
  • 1/2 cup rice flour /chawal ka atta/chaler guro
  • 1/4 th cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbs yoghurt (optional)
  • 1 tsp crushed black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 th cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/4 th cup chopped curry leaves
  • 1 tbs chopped ginger
  • 2 tbs chopped green chillies (adjust heat according to taste)
  • 2.5 cups of water


  • In a bowl add 1/2 cup sooji or rava or semolina
  • Add 1/2 cup rice flour and 1/4 th cup all purpose flour
  • Add 1 tsp salt and 1 tbs yoghurt (optional)
  • And then add 2.5 cups of water and whisk so that there is no lumps
  • Now it’s time to add some veggies like- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions,1/4 th cup chopped coriander leaves,1/4 th cup chopped curry leaves,2 tbs green chillies and 1 tbs chopped ginger (if you want you can add tomatoes, capsicum ๐Ÿซ‘)
  • Add 1 tsp cumin seeds and 1 tsp crushed black pepper and whisk
  • It might seen very runny,now cover and rest it for 20 minutes and that will be fine
  • Heat a non stick pan on high flame
  • Mix your batter,take a laddle full and start pouring from the sides
  • Now lower your heat to medium flame,when you see that the Dosa has started cooking from below,start brushing with oil from the sides
  • When you see it starts browning, now flip it
  • And cook it for more 3-4 minutes on a medium flame and its done
  • Enjoy with a simple Red chutney and green chutney
